Wondrous as it is, this land of Dar al-Ashjar is under threat from the evil Kadhibun who tear up the crystal sea and harm the environment, capture and enslave animals to work in their factories, and threaten the very way of life of the wise animals of Dar al-Ashjar. Under the guidance of Nimrullah, a wise tiger who lives in a garden amongst musk-scented redwood trees, Ahmad embarks on an inner and outer journey across the wild and dangerous lands outside of Dar al-Ashjar, full of spies, sword fights, dragons, and swindlers. Outwardly Ahmad must reach the Green Dagger, while evading the Chain Rattlers and the evil Kadhibun, in order to save the talking animals, their way of life, and their environment. Inwardly, Ahmad travels a simultaneous path of self discovery and spiritual growth, learning patience, wisdom, trust, chivalry, and the meaning of true friendship. What happens when the Sufi wisdom of Rumi and al-Ghazali meets the style of C.S. Lewis and the genre of fantasy fiction?
